Anne Marie Coleman passed away on September 30 at 11:25 PM in Bedford, TX. A Christian woman full of grace and dignity, she was southern in her charm and charisma. Dedicated in life to the pursuit of being a godly woman, she was a faithful steward of all that was entrusted to her. She taught Sunday School, evangelized, prayed for others as the leader of the God Squad, all while being a pastor’s wife, school teacher, and mother of two.
Born on January 15, 1929 to James and Mary Chamberlin in Nashville, Tennessee, she lived there, in Memphis, Tenn., Ft. Worth, Texas, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Texarkana, and Euless, Texas. A first grade teacher for 20 years, she graduated from Texas Wesleyan University and also had a Master’s degree from Texas A & M in Texarkana. She had a passion for flowers and gardening, proven by winning yard of the Month in Morrisdale Estates. She grew every variety of iris, peonies, clematis, and chrysanthemum. When she was not tending to the best yard in town, she could be found enjoying the paint and body shop (her local beauty salon), playing Skip-Bo, watching her favorite shows, or spending time with family and friends, especially those connected to her at North Richland Hills Baptist Church.
As she loved to be around people, she will long be remembered as a great friend and trustworthy advisor. More than any of that, she was a faithful wife to Dr. L.H. Coleman, her beloved husband of 66 years who proceeded her in death on September 22, 2015. She was mom to her two children: daughter, Carolyn and her favorite, and only son-in-law, Mr. Joe Hedgecock of Bedford, and Dr. Paul Coleman of Odessa. She was Grandmom to three grandchildren: Blake Hedgecock and wife, Amy, of North Richland Hills, Dr. Cole Hedgecock and wife, Christy, of Rowlett, and Cariann Cantrell of Bedford. She will always be Gigi to eleven great-grandchildren: Ben, Julianne and Crystal, Blake Jr, Chloe, Henry, Coleman, Clay, Macey, Carly, and Max. To the rest of her family and numerous loved ones, she was known as Ree, Miss Anne, Grace, or just Anne Marie. Most importantly, she is currently known as a Daughter of the Most High God, a committed believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a Proverbs 31 lady who finished well. She will be missed and memories of her will be cherished.
