Barbara Ann Myers, 90, passed away peacefully of natural causes during the early morning of Saturday, September 12, 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas comforted by her family members. She was born to Cleo Virgie and John Robert McKinley on June 3, 1925 in Ranger, Texas. Growing up, Ann lived in Pampa, Texas and Lubbock, Texas. She worked as a clerk at the Reese Army Air Corp base in Lubbock, TX. during World War II where she met her late husband S C Myers, Jr. She married S C on July 13, 1945 in Scottsville, Illinois. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.
After her husband was discharged from the service, they moved to Lubbock, Texas. Ann had a very successful and prosperous career in Tupperware sales and the two of them traveled often to Acapulco for conferences, and other exotic trips which she won as a top seller. Ann was a member of Altrusa International.
After retirement, S C and Ann moved to Hemphill, Texas where they lived on Toledo Bend Reservoir. They shared their neighborhood with 3 of Ann’s sisters, Charlotte, Mona, and Nell. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas about 3 years ago to be closer to their daughter, Margie.
Ann was preceded in death by her late husband S C Myers Jr., parents Cleo Virgie and John Robert McKinley; and by siblings John Robert McKinley, Jr., Thomas Lee McKinley, Mona Ray Tyndell, and Edith Kay Nickols.
Ann is survived by her sisters Mary Charlotte Bartlett and Virgie Nell Rivers and husband Earl; by her daughter Margie Myers Allen and husband Eddie; and her son S C Myers III and wife Georgia Elizabeth. She is also survived by four grandchildren Kris Ann Allen, Amy Lynn Allen Watson, Sarah Elizabeth Myers Miller and husband Scott, Laura Beth Allen Jobe and husband Arthur; and eight great-grandchildren Alexis Faith Watson, Jordan Danielle Watson, Emma Elizabeth Miller, Logan Lee Watson, Scarlett Isabella Jobe, GracieAnne Elizabeth Miller, Madison Leah Jobe, and Ethan Elijah Jobe.
A service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, September 15 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas with a viewing one hour prior.
Burial will be at 10:30am Wednesday, September 16 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. Please meet in Lane "C" by 10:15 am.
