Bobby Deane Tannery, 70, of Grapevine, Texas passed away peacefully with his friends and family by his side on December 1, 2023. He was born on January 19, 1953 in San Juan, Texas to Robert Lee “Bob” Tannery and Ruby Janet Brashear. He was a lifetime salesman of wireless communications equipment until he retired in 2016.
Bobby grew up in McAllen, Texas and was a 1971 graduate of McAllen High School. He loved football, baseball, classic cars, and his Mach 1 Mustang. Bobby loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He was ecstatic to finally see the Texas Rangers win a World Series.
Bobby was an officer and member of the McAllen Jaycees. He also devoted his time during the holidays to playing Santa Claus and spread holiday cheer and joy to many children.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Tannery, of Grapevine, Texas; three sons, Robert “Jeff” Tannery and his wife Krista, of McKinney, Texas, Thomas “T.J.” Tannery and his wife Amy, of Royse City, Texas, and Bobby Tannery Jr., of Grapevine, Texas; five grandchildren, Alexa, Andrew, Aiden, and Ava Tannery of Royse City, Texas, and Jeffrey Tannery of McKinney, Texas; his sister, Roselee Seigler and husband Tom, of Conroe, Texas; his niece, Elizabeth Seigler, of Conroe, Texas, and nephew, Matthew Seigler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family appreciates the doctors, nurses and staff who took care of our loved one in his time of need at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6th at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas. Visitation will be hosted from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5th at Lucas Funeral Home.
