Charles Palmer was born December 13th 1930 in Denver, CO to Fred and Mary Palmer.
He moved from Denver Colorado to San Gabriel, CA entering Garvey Jr. High. He graduated from Mark Keppel High School (Alhambra, CA) Class of 1949. He was drafted into the Army in 1951. He served in the First Calvary in the Korean War. While serving, he met his brother Bob in South Korea as he served in the Navy. After saying goodbye to each other, Chuck marched over the 38th parallel into North Korea. He is a survivor of the Battle of Pork Chop Hill.

He returned from Korea in 1953 and remained in the reserves until 1958.

After his service, he attended Pasadena Junior College as a Journeyman Meat Cutter as well as attending business courses. He joined the B.P.O.E. Elks Alhambra lodge in 1953 and remained an active member for the next 70 years alongside his membership with the American Legion.

He married Joan Palmer on February 24th 1973. They lived in Arcadia, CA for the next 28 years. Chuck was an avid woodworker. He built his own furniture for their home where they hosted many parties over the years. He loved to plant flowers and tend to their yard.

He served as a crossing guard in the community for a decade where he built many relationships over the years. He was a kind and gentle person who made a friend everywhere he went.

Chuck and Joan moved to Texas in 2001 to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. They have remained members of the community here in North Texas ever since.

He was a coffee lover and never met a stranger.

Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Palmer, Brother Walter Palmer, Brother Richard Palmer, Sister Betty McCart, Nephew Fred Palmer, Son in Law George Schulze, granddaughter Jennifer Schulze.

Survived by his wife, Joan Palmer, Brother Bob Palmer, sister Joyce Strong, daughters Kathy Baldwin and Sharon Schulze (spouse Richard McFadden) Granddaughter Samantha Barp (spouse Nick Barp) Great Grandchildren Henry Barp and Emerson Barp.
