Clifford Thomas Smith

Colonel (Ret.) Clifford T. (Cliff) Smith, 74, died of complications from Parkinson’s Disease on April 29, 2022, at his home in North Richland Hills, Texas. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. Colonel Smith was born June 18, 1947, in Slidell, Louisiana, the youngest of three children. He graduated St. Paul’s High School in Covington, Louisiana in 1965 and from Louisiana State University in January 1970. He earned a Master of Science Degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1977. Colonel Smith’s served twenty-six years in the United States Air Force before retiring in March 1996.
Colonel Smith joined Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in 1996. He was the Vice President/Deputy Customer Service when he retired in 2006.

Cliff volunteered his time with Therapeutic Equestrian, Habitat for Humanity, and Meals on Wheels. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church in Keller, Texas

He is survived by wife Kathy Dobson Smith of Mandeville, Louisiana, three sons, Clifford T. (Beau) Smith Jr. and wife Jenny of Durant, Oklahoma, Michael Brett Smith and wife Emily of Prosper, Texas, Patrick Blake Smith and wife Kelly of San Antonio, Texas, and a sister, Margaret J. Smith of Humble, Texas. Cliff was also blessed with and is survived by seven grandchildren, Mckenzy, Mason, Hannah, Connor, Shelby, Jacob, and Dylan.

Memorial service and visitation will be held Sunday May 22. 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM (CT) at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 S. Main, Keller, TX 76248. A funeral Mass will be held May 23 at 10:30 AM (CT) at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, 2016 Willis Lane, Keller, TX 76248. Military Burial with Full Honors will be at 2:15 PM (CT) at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 7521. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers: Colonel (Ret.) Larry McDaniel, Colonel (Ret.) Mike Cardinal, Colonel Daniel W. Smith III, Don Pyka, Fred Miler.

If so inclined, charitable contributions can be made to the Trinity Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County, and the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s.
