Daniel Diaz

July 24, 1973 — January 30, 2024

Daniel Diaz was born on July 24, 1973, in Fort Worth, Texas to Antonio Diaz, Sr. and Gregoria Riley. He passed away on January 30th, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 50. Though deeply saddened by his untimely death, we remember his life as it was a full and joyous one.

Daniel, or better known by friends and family as Danny, was a loving father, son, and brother to many. He was a boisterous friend and filled a room with laughter. Danny’s charm and exuberance were infectious. He had a deep love of music and was often heard singing almost everywhere he went. Danny had an eye for the arts and would often entertain his kids by drawing goats, among other silly things.

Danny held pride in his community and the businesses he worked for including Bennigan’s, Gators, Red Hot & Blue, Movie Tavern, and the Movie House and Eatery. He rooted for every North Texas sports team, especially Dem Boys. It was well known that the Diaz brothers often bumped into a friend no matter where they went.

Danny faced hardships and struggles that were insurmountable. He turned to God to “grant him the serenity to accept the things he could not change,” and sought “the courage to change the things he could.” In the end, his lifelong challenges took him away from us. Danny was so special to so many people. He had such a big soul and his kindness and love shined bright on everyone he came in contact with.

Danny is survived by his children, Gabriela Diaz, her partner, Carter, Isabela Diaz, Daniel Diaz; his mother, Gregoria Riley, his father, Antonio Diaz, Sr., his wife, Ruby; his brothers, Antonio Diaz, Jr., his wife, Melissa, and Enrique Diaz; Marissa Diaz, mother of his children; step-sisters, Jaynie Rooks, her husband, Larry, Melissa Collette, her husband, Terry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and a legion of friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Danny’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 2pm at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas.
