FLORENCE ELLEN CONDON BARRY (Flo), died Sunday, January 22nd, 2017 in Dallas, TX of cancer at age 88. She was born November 11, 1928 in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Frederick Condon and Florence Ellen Carrigan. She was married to her loving husband Kevin Michael Barry (deceased) for 65 years; and is survived by her three children Kevin Timothy Barry (and wife Linda) of Dallas, Texas, Margaret Ellen Barry of Denver, Colorado, and Michael Anthony Barry II of Houston, Texas; her granddaughter Shannon Lee Barry; and her sister Mary Ann Nickels of Cleveland, Ohio

Flo is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and holds degrees in art and education from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Her love and passion for art since childhood led to a successful career as a professional artist. She worked in various media—fiber, paint, wood and paper and was renowned for her sense of design. She has exhibited throughout the United States, received numerous awards in her career and her works are found in many corporate and private collections. She donated many of her works to churches, hospitals and charities. Flo had taught art in a number of school systems and given many lectures and workshops with emphasis on design. She was a member of Fiber Artists of Texas, Texas Visual Arts Association and Friends of Fiber International.

Most importantly, she was blessed with a wonderful husband and children who she loved very much. She had requested that her loved ones and friends not mourn too long or seriously over her departure–she is enjoying a much better life now with God.

Her ashes will be buried at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A Mass and memorial celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 27th, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, TX, followed by a reception at the church.
