Jo Ann Irving was born on January 6, 1956 to George and Stella Richardson in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the third of four children.
Jo Ann graduated from Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, Texas. She was intrigued by learning and serving. In her adult life she attended ATI where she became a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Jo Ann was a dedicated servant of the Lord and served in several capacities in the house of the Lord. She was the lead Pastor of The City of God Church for many years. Her service, however, was far beyond TCOG as she was an Apostle, one who is sent out. An assignment she didn’t take lightly.
She enjoyed learning God’s word, studying, teaching, helping, interceding, and truly living a dedicated life to her Savior. And didn’t mind whopping anyone in some ‘Phase 10’.
Jo Ann was well known for her laughter and her natural ability to make others laugh, feel welcomed, and loved no matter what. She lived a purposeful life full of hope and a commitment to see others live out their dreams.
On Monday, April 10, 2023, Jo Ann answered Jesus' call to come home. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister. Jo Ann leaves to cherish her memories: her son Larry Jr, her sisters June Alvarez and Sherry Nava, her niece(daughter) and caregiver, Dekedria Morris. Many others who so passionately called her momma and nana. Several nieces and nephews and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:00 pm, Monday, April 17, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst, TX 76053.
