John R. Kyle, long-time educator and resident of Grand Prairie, Texas, went to meet his Lord and Savior on January 3, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Euless, and was both a Sunday school teacher and mentor to many members. He will be long remembered by his infectious spirit.
John was born on February 18, 1950 to Dorothy McClure and Willard E. Kyle in Texarkana, Arkansas. He is survived by brother, Don G. Kyle and wife, Arlene, of Texarkana, and sister, Mary Helen Chapin of Georgetown, Texas, nephews, Steve and David Shipp, Chris and Jimmy Kyle, cousins Kate McClure of Texarkana, Texas, Margaret Kyle Dahl of Sarasota, Florida, Ernest Kyle of San Antonio, Texas and long time dear friend, Melinda Maddox, of Grand Prairie, Texas and many other loving family members and friends..
John graduated from San Angelo High School and received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from East Texas State College in Commerce, Texas. During his college years, he became involved in music ministry in a small church near his school, which laid the groundwork for his lifelong love and work in music education.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening, January 6, 2017, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas, with funeral service on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 First Baptist Church, Hwy 157, Euless, Texas.
