John Walter Ledbetter, Sr., a resident of Fort Worth went to heaven Monday, June 27th. He was born in 1963 in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Nolan High School after also attending Trinity High School. John retired after 31 years from the City of Euless, Parks and Recreation Department and continued to work there on a part time basis.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bedford where he served on the Board of Trustees, and worked with the youth in several capacities, including annual mission trips.
His passions were the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, mission trips and most of all, his family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 25 years, Ramona, his children Kristin Annette and husband, Brandon, Karlie Cecilia Jeanne, John Walter, Jr. and Andrew Paul. His grandchildren Wyatt, Annabelle and Weston. Parents Walter and Marilyn Ledbetter, siblings Karen and husband, Jimmy, Robert, and Patrick and wife, Loa. Sisters-in-law, Roxy Stuart, Lawanda Striedel, Mandy Strain and husband Tim; brothers-in-law, Randy Spence and wife Patricia. Preceded in death by his sisters Michelle and Loretta.
He was also survived by his aunts and uncles, Skippy and Margaret Mitchell, Norma Perry, Nancy Thomas, Marilyn Ledbetter, and Thomas Ledbetter along with numerous cousins, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Viewing to be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst on Thursday, June 30th from 6 - 8 pm. Services will be at First United Methodist Church in Bedford on Friday, July 1st at 2pm.
