Our precious son, partner, brother, friend and inspiration, Lucas Starr, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2018 at 2:31 AM in his home in Fort Worth surrounded by his loving family. Lucas was 34 years old and a graduate of Alvord High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Mattix, as well as Cody Randles. He is survived by his mother, Jeri Mattix; his partner, Lauren Collins; his loving extended family; and a fan-base and group of friends that reaches around the planet.
Lucas was born on July 2nd, 1984 in Austin Texas. He spent his childhood and teenage years unknowingly crafting a personality within himself that pushed boundaries, challenged the norm, and defined the term 'maverick spirit'. This spirit would not go unnoticed as his magnetic personality immediately became the center of attention in any given situation with family and friends. He was looked up to, even at a young age, as those who knew him well knew that his future was destined towards making an impact in this world and that he would touch many lives. A star was born.
He took the immense love and dedication that his Creator poured into his soul and focused it into music, his one true passion. He founded many bands and guided even more artists to their full potential, essentially reaching tens of thousands of lives throughout the world.
Family, friends, and all others whose lives were touched by Lucas' bright existence are invited to a life celebration service at City On A Hill church, 1140 Morrison Dr. Fort Worth, TX 76120, on Sat, Dec 15 at 2PM to remember Lucas' life, to honor his legacy, and to share stories of the magic his life brought into ours.
This will be an uplifting celebration but we understand it will be very emotional for many as well. If you elect to share a story about Lucas we ask that you write down what you intend to share. It is most often easier to read or at least have a reference when remembering a loved one. As we expect a number of people may want to honor Lucas, we ask that you keep your remarks to a minute in duration.
“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
