Lynda was born on January 11, 1945 to Richard Croonquist and Jean Havens in Billings, Montana. After graduating from Powell County High School, she went on to study Nursing at Montana State College in Bozeman, Montana.
She married Rick Ronan in 1967 and had two children, Rhonda and Ross. After moving to Texas, she met and married Alan Cowen in 1981 and became stepmother to Jason.
Lynda was predeceased by parents’ Richard Croonquist and Jean Havens Croonquist, and brother Steven Croonquist. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Alan Cowen; children Rhonda Ronan Hickey and Jim Hickey of Fredericksburg, Texas; Ross Ronan and Susan Schaeffer Ronan of Denver, Colorado; Jason Cowen and Rachel Cowen of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren Reed Ronan, Donovan Ronan, Logan Ronan, Aidan Hickey, Vincent Hickey, and Genevieve Cowen; and brother Doug Croonquist (Sandi).
Lynda affected people from all walks of life. She trained doctors to detect cervical cancer at UTHSC-D. She enjoyed and taught remote viewing at The Farsight Institute in Atlanta. She loved portrait and sports photography which she shared with the MacArthur football team, cheerleaders, and Cardettes. She was a serious gamer arranging hours of raiding on Everquest. Her avatar “Gamorfy” could virtually allow Lynda to do tasks her own body could not.
Lynda loved to travel with her family, cruising by ship or on the back of a motorcycle. She lived fearlessly and gave that spirit to her kids and grandkids. She is deeply missed and loved.
