Marilyn Singleton passed away in Fort Worth, Texas on Tuesday February 5, 2022.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m,, Friday February 11, 2022. Bethesda Community Church, 4700 North Beach, Halton City, Texas. Visitation one hour before service.
Memorials: For those who desire, a memorial may be made to Pleasant Hills Children’s Home.
She was born to Theodore and Hazel, (Walker) Hedlun in Rapid City, South Dakota where she attended school. She had a wonderful childhood growing up with her brother, Wayne, and being active in church. Marilyn graduated from Black Hills University (in Rapid City) and became a teacher. She married the love of her life, Rev. James B. Singleton, and was called to be a pastor’s wife and homemaker. She was blessed with two wonderful sons, Robert (Bob) and Richard (Rick) Singleton. Her life was devoted to the Lord, her family, friends and her church. She was always happy to do for others or to do anything that needed to be done at church. She was a true servant of the Lord. Her favorite Scriptures were II Tim.4:7 & 8 Phil1:21 and II Cor 2:14,15. She will be remembered for being a prayer warrior, loving her pets, having a sense of humor, and for the love and compassion for others.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Singleton, her brother, Wayne, and her sons, Bob and Rick.
Survivors: Daughter-in-law, Deborah L. Singleton; sister-in-law, Lorraine Hedlun, nieces and nephews, Jeannine and Don Wight, Randy and Jacie Hedlun, Steve Hedlun, Marylon and Achan Dufrene, Freda Adams and many other family members.
