Michael Wayne Hall

Michael Wayne Hall, died on June 19, 2022. He served as a FEMA Costing Specialist in Denton, Texas, doing what he was proudest of doing - serving his country and neighbors.

Michael was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 28, 1958. He attended Bartlett High School in Bartlett, TN, and received his GED. He loved education and returned to gain an Associate in Science/General Studies from Georgia Military College, a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Master of Public Education from Valdosta State College in Georgia. On his days off, he paid it forward by serving as a substitute teacher at Northwest ISD in Fort Worth, Texas. His favorite teaching quote that he wrote on the Whiteboard was “Let’s save the Earth – it’s the only place that has PIZZA!” He had the heart and mind of a child and was rarely negative.

Michael retired from the Navy after 26 years of serving in both Active and the Reserves in Guam, Scotland, and the US. He was honorably discharged as an E6 first-class petty officer. He received the National Defense Service, Navy Achievement, and the .45 Cal Pistol Medals, Sea Service Deployment, W/2 stars, M1 Rifle Marksman, and Overseas Service Ribbons.

Michael is survived by his wife, Mary Michele Harris-Hall; Sister, Angela Wadsworth; Nephews Blaine Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Sam Wadsworth, and Nate Wadsworth; Stepson, Jerry Clemmer; Stepdaughters, Maria Clemmer-Court, Marla Clemmer; Step Granddaughters: Kameron Court, Kacee Court, Camiel Clemmer, Madison Goodwin, Makayla Clemmer, and Hannah Clemmer Samuels; Step-Grandson, Kyle Peterson; and 3 Great Grandchildren. He will also be missed by the many friends he touched.

His parents, Henry Neil Hall from Hartford, Alabama and Mary Nell Daniel of Brownsville, Tennessee, preceded him.

His wife, Michele, was his best friend, and they had a special love for each other. She was the love of his life as he was to her. He loved teaching for two years at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton 3rd grade Religious Education Class along with his wife, Michele.

Guitar Player: Before COVID, he played his 12-string guitar at St. Monica Catholic Church’s as it had a contemporary music choir at the 5 o’clock Mass. He was a joy to many people in the Barathaven Nursing home with his Elvis impersonations in St. Louis where his mother resided.

Toastmaster that he was, he has mentored over two hundred Toastmaster Members during the thirty years of membership. He obtained five Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) Awards, the highest award in Toastmasters International.
