Robert (Bob) Wayne Hughs, 72, passed away September 14, 2023. Bob was born in Dallas,
Texas on March 19, 1951 to Wayne Odell Hughs and Lucy Elizabeth Moore Hughs. Bob
grew up in Irving, Texas and attended MacArthur High School. He obtained his air
conditioning and electrician license and opened his air conditioning business, Hughs Air
Conditioning, which he eventually sold to TD Industries. He worked for TD Industries in
the IT Department until he retired.
Bob truly loved learning and teaching. His mind was always looking for ways to improve
everything. He always had multiple projects in the works. He took great pride that he could
fix anything, and could not understand why others could not fix something. Bob will be
remembered as a caregiver who believed in the importance of remembering and
celebrating birthdays. He was the most thoughtful gift giver. He loved scuba diving, taking
pictures, and traveling. His absolute happiest place was the farm.
Bob will be remembered and live on in the hearts of his wife Debra Travis of Hurst, TX; son
Greg Hughs and wife Ruth of Austin, TX; stepson Jason Travis and wife Lindsey of Palestine,
TX; stepson Blake Travis of Hurst, TX; grandchildren Sophia Hughs, Hudson Hughs, Jay
Travis, Josh Travis, Reagan Travis; sister Mary Bodien and husband Bob of Mansfield, TX;
nephews Justin Bodien and wife Erin of Beverly Hills, CA; Clint Bodien, wife Amanda,
and children.
Most of all, Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and
Friend. He is remembered by many for his quick wit, engaging stories and his sage advice.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
