Ruth was born in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Germany to Johannes & Helene Layritz on July 25, 1926. She attended school there until forced into labor during World War II, during which time she also met her husband, Frederick J. Cramer, an American serviceman. She went on to raise her family in El Paso, Texas, where she actively volunteered for church, PTA and local elections.
After her husband's death in the year 2000, she moved closer to family in Grapevine, and became an active member of Crown of Life Lutheran Church, volunteered at GRACE, and participated in Bible Study Fellowship. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and travel, and she always made time for family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle, positive spirit, her faith and eagerness to participate in Bible Study and serve the Lord.
Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters, Margarete & husband, Helmut Anger, and Renate Pietzcker.
Survivors: Ruth is survived by her son, Steve Cramer; daughter, Patricia & husband, Seth Wood, and brother-in-law, Eddi Pietzcker. She is also the proud aunt of Heinrich, Thomas and Martin Anger; and Michael and Matthias Pietzcker, along with their beautiful wives and children.
