Shirley Ann (Weaver) Morgan-Durant, aged 86 of Catlett, Virginia, passed away on Friday, December 15th, 2023 while visiting her son in Fort Worth, Texas.
Shirley Ann Weaver was born August 10th, 1937 to loving parents Cristine (Johnson) and Murry Weaver in Lake City, South Carolina. Along with her brother and sister, Shirley grew up in the church. The family was very active in the Bible Outreach Church in Lake City, where she taught Sunday School for some time.
Shirley loved to read and listen to audio books. She could often be found with family and friends watching Hallmark movies or going out to eat. Shirley adored animals, especially those who would jump into her lap and lick her face causing her to giggle. Her favorite color was purple, and she had a knack and passion for finding any and all things purple. Music affected her life deeply, and she loved Elvis Presley. Her nickname for her grandson, Heath Stacey, was "Little Elvis". Shirley also collected lighthouses.
Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, James Weaver; and her son, Norman Stacey.
Shirley is survived by her sons, James Morgan, of Saginaw, Texas, Ron Morgan, of Pompano Beach, Florida, Jack (Matt) Morris of Lake City, South Carolina, and Ren Morris of Lake City, South Carolina; her daughters, LaDonna Fanto of Catlett, Virginia and Deanna Christine Weaver of Florance, South Carolina; her sister, Bonnie McGee, of Olanta, South Carolina; her 19 grandchildren; her 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service in Shirley's honor held 4 o'clock pm, January 6th, 2024 at the Bible Outreach Church, located at 1233 W. Tuberville Highway, Lake City South Carolina 29560.
