EULESS -- Terry Haynes, 69, devoted husband, father, and Papa, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m., Friday, Sept 30, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Hurst, 521 W Pipeline Road, Hurst. To honor his wishes, the family encourages attendees to wear business casual and TCU purple.
MEMORIALS: in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FUMC Hurst--Missions, the American Cancer Society, or the Do It for Durrett Foundation, Fort Worth.
Terry was born Oct. 15, 1946 in Fort Worth to Norban (Buck) Haynes, and Fern (Sis) Winn. He graduated from Carter Riverside HS in 1964 Terry was passionate about the music of the 50's and 60's and enjoyed playing in rock 'n roll bands for years. He met the love of his life at one of his performances. He married Dani Hudspeth on September 20, 1969. After serving 4 years in the Navy in Fresno, California, he earned his BBA in economics from UTA. Later, he took numerous post graduate classes at UTA and at Brite Divinity School at TCU. He was an ardent learner.
Terry was an avid golfer, a loyal TCU fan, a wonderful storyteller, a very proud father, and a doting grandfather. He taught Sunday school for many years at FUMC, Hurst and many credit him for shaping their faith by challenging their beliefs. After a 36 year career at Leaman Container, Terry retired in August.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny Haynes.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Dani, son Brian and wife Sonia, son Eric and wife Amy, daughter Paige Lillagore and husband James. Grandchildren Pierce, Preston, Addy, and Ellis Haynes and Landon and Macie Lillagore. Nephew Josh Haynes, Sister-in-law Sue Haynes, and mother-in-law Jane Hudspeth.
