Tony Lee Miller

Tony Lee Miller was born on June 17, 1960 in Fort Worth, Texas and he passed away on October 23, 2022 in Azle, Texas at the age of 62 years old.

He attended Tarrant County College Police Academy and was in class #72. Corporal Tony Miller #1193 was hired by the Haltom City Police Department in 1996. He served as a member of SWAT as a dual operator, sniper and eventually remained on SWAT as a trainer. He spent most of his career in criminal investigations working with almost every division. He also served as a field training officer, in property and evidence as well as a brief assignment with internal affairs. Tony received numerous awards and 27 commendations. He was awarded officer of the year in 2007 and detective of the year in 2009. He retired in February of 2022. When he retired, he held a master peace officers license through TCOLE with a total of 2678 training hours. Corporal Miller was a Master Marksman, certified Police Firearms Instructor. Corporal Miller was also an Armorer for Glock pistols, AR-15, and 1911. Firearms was Corporal Millers passion, and he was extremely talented in all thing’s guns. He was on the US Palma Team and has won a lot of awards, championships, and holds many national records. He was also a member of the US National Rifle Team and Texas State Service Rifle Team. He was vice-president of the Panola County Gun Club, and the Bald Eagles Rifle Club. He also loved to hunt and fish and travel.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 42 years, Renae Miller of Azle; adoring sons, Joshua Miller and wife, Ashton of Azle; and Chase Miller and wife, Caylin of Keller; precious grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller, Wyatt Miller and Nolan Miller. Tony is also survived by his parents: father, Larry Miller and wife, Nancy of Lacey, Washington; and mother, Peggy Moore of Fort Worth; siblings, Terry Miller and wife, Amy of Dublin, Texas; Shelly Beatty and husband, Bob of Azle, Texas; Lori Davidson and husband, Wayne of Joshua, Texas; Daniel Pearson of Fort Worth and Bonnie Miller of Lacey, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Northwood Church located at 1870 Rufe Snow Drive, Keller, Texas 76248. Click here to watch the LIVE STREAM
