Travis Stewart Sheffield

July 9, 1991 — June 17, 2023

It is with a heavy heart the family of Travis Stewart Sheffield, age 31, publicly announces the passing of their husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Travis was born July 9, 1991 in El Paso Texas to Robert W. and Sally A. Sheffield and passed away June 17, 2023 in Northlake Texas.

Travis graduated from Northwest High School in 2010 and Tarrant County College in 2022. He also attended University of North Texas from 2021 to 2023 and was studying Pre-Med with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.

Travis proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 2012-2017 in the 1st Battalion 7th Marines, 0311 and in 2015 was deployed to Iraq. He continued his service to our country in the Texas Army National Guard in Unit 3/278 ARC (Armored Cavalry Regiment). Travis was also an active Master Mason in the Krum Masonic Lodge #1453.

Travis was best known for his sense of humor, which was never limited by boundaries, often self-deprecating, and typically only fully understood by himself. Travis never shied away from a dare or challenge, whether as a result of a jest or just a result of life. His loyalty to his friends, comrades, and family was recognized and appreciated by everyone who knew him. He was known for his dedication to helping friends in need which was always done without fanfare. His even-keeled, easy-going nature, and infectious smile made it easy for him to make friends, he never knew a stranger. His life revolved around family. He was a dedicated husband and father - Morgan and his two sons gave his life purpose. Travis was attending the University of North Texas with the goal of entering medical school and ultimately pursuing his MD to further serve his community. He was passionately active in Freemasonry, weightlifting, cosplay, loved to debate philosophy, religion, politics, or any subject that would normally raise his opponent’s blood pressure.

He is survived by his loving wife, Morgan Sheffield; sons, Sterling and Solomon Sheffield; parents, Robert and Sally Sheffield; brother, Rob Sheffield and his wife Ashley; sisters, Jenelle Gucwa and her husband Paul and Ariel Williams; parents-in-law, Lina and Foy Wallace; sisters-in-law, Shelby Hoetker and her husband Drew and Brooke Filipczuk and her husband Sebastian and numerous nieces and nephews.

His faith in God and love of country sustained him throughout his life and were pillars of his being. He was the embodiment of Semper Fidelis – always faithful. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.
