AC Johnson Jr., 66, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at his home, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Abundant Life Church in Grapevine. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine.
Memorials: In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Junior, as he was known by his family and friends, was born Sept. 18, 1950, in Grapevine. Junior owned a painting company in Grapevine for over 30 years. He was Past Master of the Grapevine Masonic Lodge 288. He also loved hunting and fishing. Junior was very involved in his sons' lives. He coached their Little League teams and was a great second father to all their friends. Later in life he bought a farm in Alba to become a farmer and be closer to his granddaughters and kids. His granddaughters were the lights of his world.
He will be loved, missed, and remembered in our hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by parents, AC and Ersie Mae Harwell Johnson, and sister, Margaret Sistrunk.
Survivors: Wife of 46 years, Mary Cal Yates Johnson; sons, Greg Johnson and wife, Brenda, and Eric Johnson and wife, Kelli; granddaughters, Sydney, Riley, Ava and Marley Johnson; sisters, Margie McPherson and husband, Rick, Mae Placencia and husband, Gilbert, and Gayle Johnson; brother-in-law, Thomas Sistrunk; uncle, Leonard Johnson; aunts, Betty Harwell and Mary Lou Johnson; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew; and one great-great-niece.
