1SGT Alan Leon Forrester, USA, Ret.
1946-2022
After a 5 month courageous battle with Leukemia, Alan “Top” Forrester left us, to go home to our Lord and Father, Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at the age of 75 at Medical City Dallas. He is undoubtedly in heaven entertaining and laughing with family and friends lost before his passing. Doing what he loved most… making everyone smile. He left a legacy of love, compassion, generosity, inclusion of all, giving of yourself to help and be in the service of others, and above all, unconditional love for family.
Born August 4th, 1946, in Brownwood, Texas. He was a lifelong proud Texan, born and bred. He intentionally passed that love and passion on to his two sons, ensuring both of his boys were born within the Lonestar state. Even while being assigned to different military locations around the world.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, and love of his life, Evi Forrester; his children, Alan Forrester II and his wife Richi Forrester, Adrian Forrester and his wife Lauran “LT” Forrester; and his grandchildren, Jordan Forrester, Lillie Forrester and Alan III “Liam” Forrester. Alan was preceded in death by his mother Bernice Smith and father Ted Smith.
Alan had great passion for our country and his dedicated service to the US Army, for 28 proud years. Honorably discharged, he left military life and became the General Manager of the Sears, Central Distribution Center, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After the passing of his father Ted, He returned to Texas to be close to his mother, and return to his beloved home, the Lonestar state. He became a Lead Load Planner for Radio Shack Corporate Office, Fort Worth, Texas. Upon retiring he spent his time enjoying hobbies, watching movies and most important to him above all else, spending time with family.
We honor the joy and beautiful life he lived & shared with us. Alan loved to spoil his family. He never met a stranger, he loved to tell stories, host family gatherings and bring everyone together. He will be missed dearly and he will always reside in a large portion of our hearts.
A full Honor Guard Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Alan’s life at 2 p.m. on Saturday January 29th, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas, 1601 S Main St, Keller, TX 76248.
