Alfred Woodrow Wenzel

January 16, 1919 — March 24, 2018

Alfred Woodrow Wenzel was born on January 16, 1919 in North Bergen, New Jersey. He passed away on March 24, 2018 in Haslet, Texas.

Al served in World War II from August 1941 to September 1945. He was with the Army 28th Division in Europe at the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he got his A&E license in New York and came to Fort Worth to work for General Dynamics. He joined the Air Force at Carswell Air Force Base in 1955 and served until 1962. He then worked at Bell Helicopter until retiring in 1984.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; step-children, Jennifer and Michael Norris of Haslet, Ricki and Greg Max of Hurst, and Debbie Smith of Trophy Club; step-grandchildren, Lane and Rivers Norris of Haslet, Lauren Smith of Trophy Club, and Samantha and Taylor Max.

A memorial service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller on Tuesday, April 3 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
