George ‘Allan’ McDonald went to be with Jesus, peacefully, from his home on Saturday morning, October 21, 2017.
A celebration of life will take place Thursday, Oct. 26, 10:00 am at Milestone Church. 201 Mt. Gilead Rd. Keller, TX 76248
Allan was born December 30, 1966 to George and Brenda McDonald in Waco, TX. He grew up in Richardson, TX and graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was extremely athletic and an accomplished water skier, motocross racer, golfer, and alpine skier.
October 26, 2002, Allan married his best friend, Karen Lynn Ziegler. They have a 13 year-old daughter, Kristina Renee and a 10 year-old son, Jack Ryan. They lived in the Keller/Roanoke area for all their years of marriage and family life. While he enjoyed a successful career in business, Allan lived for his family and church.
He loved his wife and children unconditionally. Allan was a great, caring and loving husband, son, father, brother, friend and Christian family man. He encouraged his daughter to love Jesus Christ. He coached his son in becoming a godly man. He loved his country that God created. He took his family on many weekend camping trips in Texas, week long trips to Destin, Florida and Fun Valley, Colorado, and a once in a lifetime trip to the beautiful national parks of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming.
Allan and his family joined Milestone Church where he was an active member, leading ‘men’s small groups’ in family leadership and serving as leader of the usher team for a number of years. In addition, Karen and Allan served as ‘couples small group’ leaders up until the time of his illness.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Karen, his loving daughter Kristina, and his much-loved son, Jack; his parents, George and Brenda McDonald of Richardson, TX; his sister Shannon Sliwinski, husband Paul and nephew Tyler of Castle Rock, CO; his Aunt and Uncle, Mary and Jim Hamilton of Plano, TX; his Aunt and Uncle, Kay and Jot Tucker of Odessa, TX; his Uncle, Jimmie Burnett of Odessa, TX; and twelve cousins.
Allan McDonald had a profound impact on those around him his entire life. Many people have expressed tremendous gratitude for Allan and the wonderful memories he left behind. Without a doubt, Allan will be deeply missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Allan’s honor to Milestone Church Missions which will further impact his passion for reaching people and building lives.
