HURST -- Alta Louise Jordan Thrash passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the age of 94.
Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at First United Methodist Church of Hurst.

Alta was born in Dallas on Sept. 3, 1918. She spent her life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was married to Luther William Thrash for over 50 years prior to his death in 1989. They moved several times, living in Dallas, Wichita Falls, Beaumont and Houston, and Shreveport, La. After her husband's death, she moved to Hurst where she was a member of the Wesley Bible Class at First United Methodist Church of Hurst.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther W. Thrash; their daughter, Gayle Louise; her parents, Clifford and Ethel Jordan; and two brothers, J.W. and Elmo Jordan.
Survivors: Sons, Jack Thrash and wife, Eileen, and Joe Thrash and wife, Kay Trostle; grandchildren, Mark Thrash and wife, Tracy, Becky Jones and husband, Dan, and Elizabeth and Julia Thrash; and eight great-grandchildren.
