Alton R. Ray, 89, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016.
Funeral service 10:30am Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Euless. Burial will follow at 1:15pm at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Euless.
Alton was born in 1926 in Orth, Texas one of 8 children to R.T. and Mary Lou Ray. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the Navy during W.W.II and the Korean Conflict. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Euless. He was a life member of the Estelle Masonic lodge #582 A.F.& A.M. He retired from Vought Aircraft after 42 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Euless.
He never met a stranger and all who met him loved him dearly. He will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Reta Ray; son, Mark Ray (Debbie); daughters, Donna Graham (Ted), Janna Hamm (Buddy) 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
