Alvia J. Davis III, 65, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 14, 2012, in Cleburne, Texas. A.J., also called "Dave" by family, was born to Alvia J. Davis Jr. and Lucille Morrison Davis in Jackson, Miss., on Aug. 8, 1946. He was an Eagle Scout and served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-69 aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He worked as a mechanic and in manufacturing in Cleburne and Fort Worth.
He is survived by his children, Micah Yingst and husband, Mark, of Burleson, Leah Hubbard and husband, Kelby, of Granbury, A.J. Davis IV of Glen Rose and Eric Davis and wife, Candice, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jake Yingst, Troy Yingst, Preston Chapman, Ethan Chapman, Kandice Hubbard-Glass, Devin Hubbard, USMC, Kasey Hubbard and Coby Davis; sister, Jan Ford of Forth Worth; and niece, Janna Ford Comer of Cleburne.
