Amber Lee Marquez

September 21, 1978 — May 30, 2019

Amber Lee Arizmendi Marquez, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, left this world May 30, 2019. She left behind a wealth of family including her three children, Angel, Vincent, and Brioni along with her mother Fay Bayres, father Reggie Arizmendi, and brother Chris Arizmendi; Her great grandmother, Barbara Bayless and Aunts Sandra Myers and Karen Kirby, also survive her along with her cousins, Ginna Doyle, Robin Pearson, and Andy Myers. She also has a myriad of extended family in San Antonio including her great aunt Gloria Erlich.
Amber was preceded in death by her cherished grandmother, Mary Louise Arizmendi.
Born September 21, 1978, in Las Vegas Nevada, Amber knew her own mind early on. She was independent and strong willed. If she wanted hot dogs, she was going to have hot dogs 24/7. If she wanted to wear her favorite 80s headband, leg warmers and leotard four days straight, you could not change her mind.
Despite the obstacles, she faced in her life and several starts and stops in college she graduated from UT Arlington with a degree in accounting and as a CPA all while caring for her children.
She was kind and generous to a fault. If a friend was homeless, she took them in. If she saw a homeless person, she would take her mother's last five dollars and give it to them.
She was quick to anger and quick to love. She was funny, poetic, and caring. Her laugh made you laugh even if you had no idea why. Her smile was infectious and hard to resist.
She had more than her share of bumps and bruises during her life, but she always kept moving forward. She survived a major accident, multiple surgeries, severe infections, and seizures. Even in her darkest hours, she continued to nurture her children and ensure their values stayed straight.
Although not perfect, Amber was one of a kind – a sometimes goofy, sometimes serious woman who defied description. Our daughter, mother, sister, and friend will be sorely missed, as there is no one who could ever fill her place.

Dear Amber, no matter how many sunsets come and go, you will never be forgotten. Your name is precious and it is engraved forever in our hearts. Rest in peace with the Angels and your Granny until we meet again.
