Amy Patrice Burgoon, age 45, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22nd, 2019, at Baylor, Scott and White hospital in Grapevine. She was born June 6th, 1973 to Kenneth and Susan (Loter) De Ville in Irving. She Graduated from Grapevine High School in 1991. She received an associates degree from TCJC in 1993. She was married to David Burgoon on October 1, 2004. She was the loving mother of Skylar, Adalyn and Ethan.
Amy played an integral role in the American Airlines’ Customer Assistance Relief Effort (CARE) from 1998-2003. She was responsible for the tracking and support of over 1300 volunteers during the response to aircraft accidents and was critical to CARE’s response in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. Amy’s selflessness, hard work, and humor lent strength to all those with whom she worked. She also worked for Cornerstone staffing and Accounting Principals as a staffing manager. She was often called on to resolve tense situations as Amy had the ability to calmly create agreeable solutions. After leaving the corporate world, Amy poured her love and creativity into her volunteer work at Bransford Elementary school, beginning in 2012 when her oldest child, Skylar, entered kindergarten. Amy volunteered tirelessly, in many different capacities, with a focus on making things better for all of the children at school; not just her own. Amy was the type of person who would look around a room and go to anyone standing alone to make them feel welcomed and included. Her sense of humor will be sorely missed as she was always able to make others laugh. Her smile brightened the world and lives on in her children.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Amy touched are invited to Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, 1615 Airport Fwy, Irving, TX, at 3 p.m., Sunday May 5th, 2019 for her memorial service where we will celebrate her life. Amy lived colorfully so please feel free to wear colors for her service. Black attire is not necessary.
