Amy made her debut into this lucky world on May 7, 1975 in Denver, Colorado to Gerri Mae and Jim Wendel Witkay.
After Graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in photography, Amy married her subject David Ralston and became a loving mother to 3 beautiful daughters, Emily 18, Sophia 13 and Allison 10.
As we all know of Amy a being pure unadulterated amalgamation of wit, wisdom, organization, feistiness, will and an unstoppable force of determination, This spitfire left Lupus in the dust when she immediately signed up for her first Triathlon while pregnant, after being diagnosed. Showing us how to laugh in the face of adversity Amy continually used any obstacle in her way as an excuse to push beyond the breaking point of the rest of us mere mortals. Since then, Amy went on to compete in multiple Triathlons and 150 mile bike rallies with exhausted her friends by her side.
Maintaining a daunting to most, continual exercising regiment, Amy would use this unwavering force of nature and drive to excel in the workforce in the world of Planning and Allocations for organizations such as Zales Jewelry and The Army and Airforce Exchange. Always coming up with pioneering solutions to old problems and new, Amy would use her dedication and perseverance to successfully lead her teams to deliver much needed goods to troops globally.
Saving the hardest job for last, MOM. Amy must have taken a page from Gerri Witkay who successfully and single handedly raised her and her brother. Amy would serve as more than a gentle hand of guidance and offer herself as a step by step example to her girls. Being there for every track meet, basketball game, softball game, art exhibition and math equation, her patience and ability to teach, love and inspire will last several generations.
As a lover of life and all forms of fellow travelers of life in her world, Amy also had a special kinship with nature and spirituality. Even in her earthly incarnation Amy’s face would light up like an angel as the sun illuminated her beautiful kind eyes and she would turn around and say “everything happens for a reason.”
Amy is survived by her loving mother Gerri Witkay, brother Doug Witkay, Husband David Ralston and three daughters Emily, Sophia and Allison Ralston
