Andres "Bong" Tulauan Bariuan, Jr.

Andres “Bong” Tulauan Bariuan Jr., 54, passed away Sunday, January 9th, 2022 after bravely and courageously battling cancer for six years. He was blessed to spend his last precious days with his wife and two daughters under the best care of UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas, Texas. At the hospital, Bong was happy to be visited online and in-person by his family, friends, and care team of six years. He recently celebrated Christmas, New Year’s, and the holidays at home in Fort Worth, Texas, where he shared loving memories with his community.

Bong was the beloved husband of Michiline (Ramiro), who held him in her arms and comforted him until the last breath. He was also the loving dad of Nicole Mae and Janine Mae, as well as the cherished son of Andres Sr. (deceased) and Narcisa (Tulauan), and dear brother of Ruben (deceased), Danilo, Moning, Joel, Loraine, and Olivia.

Bong was born and grew up in Tuguegarao, Philippines in the humble and lively town of Ugac. He attended St. Louis University in Tuguegarao where he graduated with honors in Civil Engineering and pursued a Masters in Business Administration. Bong gave much love and support to Tuguegarao, and even after moving to the United States, he faithfully remained close to his hometown and family there where he left a wide-ranging legacy that deeply impacted his community. He was always a role model, helping hand, and friend to anyone he met.

Bong was a lover of music, movies, and Filipino food. He loved watching James Bond, Marvel and DC, action adventures, current events, Jeopardy, and international cinema with his family, especially with his daughters, at home. Bong was a walking encyclopedia who was always enthusiastic to share his knowledge with others and engage in spirited conversation. He was devoted to watching basketball and the NBA finals tournament every year, as well as the Superbowl and other major sports tournaments. On Youtube, he loved watching travel food videos from every country. On Facebook, he always loved “Liking” everyone’s posts. He also loved listening to Original Pinoy Music. Bong loved driving, and his favorite foods were crispy pata, biko, balatong, pancit batil patong, and anything lechon.

Bong had a rare soul that was both strong and precious at the same time. He was really full of life and gave life all he could. His beautiful smile, genuine positive attitude, heart of gold, commitment to his family, responsibility as a husband and father, and sincere goodness endeared him to so many. Add that to his great sense of humor and charismatic presence, he was an absolute joy and inspiration to be around. More than anything, he was an incredible father and devoted his life to his kids. He took care of them academically, professionally, spiritually, financially, emotionally and more. No one could ever doubt that he was the best father in existence. Lastly, he cherished his wife with an undying love that lives on in an eternal bond beyond life. No words can express the love he endlessly gave his family.

When Dr. Ankit Kansagra, his primary doctor of six years, visited him on his bed, Andres, who could speak little and barely open his eyes, held out his hand and presented a hand to shake. This powerful gesture manifests the honorable, virtuous, and noble character that Andres embodied, even at his final moments. He fought so valiantly throughout his battle and faced God on headstrong and with grace. His team of world-renowned physicians said he was the “bravest and strongest patient they had ever had”. His spirit never succumbed, only his mortal body. You are an inspiration to all of us, dad. May you Rest in Peace and eat all the food you want, watch all the movies you want, and talk about anything and everything you want – with your voice booming and your laughter neverending. We love you, dad. You were the best of us. You are forever in our hearts. We thank you, and we cannot wait to see you and be together with you again, at peace in Heaven.
