Andrew was born February 15, 1930 in Bronx, N.Y., to Andrew McMahon and Margaret Murray McMahon. He attended the prestigious Regis High School in Manhattan, NY, Class of 1948. In high school, he was on the swim team, ran track, and served as a member of the Regian Art Staff and the Pasteur Science Academy. Following high school, he attended and graduated from Fordham University in Bronx, N.Y. He proudly served with the 15th Infantry of the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant (E-6) from 1952 to 1954 and was deployed to Korea during the Korean War where he earned a Combat Infantryman's Badge and was awarded the Korean War Service Ribbon. Later, he worked for American Airlines in New York City, where he met his lifelong sweetheart, Kathleen Brown. They married in 1965 and raised six children. He retired from American Airlines after 30 years of employment in N.Y. and DFW, relocating to Texas in 1979.
Andrew was preceded in death by his late parents, his wife of 53 years, Kathleen, his son, Michael Andrew, and his grandson Aidan.
Survivors: children, Noreen Salmon (Joe), Brendan, Kieran (Amy), Brian and Kara; nine grandchildren.
