Anita Joyce Bowling

Anita Joyce Bowling (88) went to be with her Lord and Savior August 22, 2018. She is now in heaven with her loving husband R. H. (Bob) Bowling. Bob has been waiting for her since Nov 2005. Joyce is preceded in death by her father Alfred Monigold and mother Florida Monigold.
Funeral services will be held by the Bowling family at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson, TX on Friday, August 24th, 2018 at 1 pm. Visitation will be held before the service from Noon until 12:45. Burial will be in Odessa TX at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Saturday at 1pm.
Joyce was born at home in Barnsdall, Oklahoma on April 16, 1930. She went to school in Barnsdall prior to her marriage to Bob on July 11, 1946. Bob and Joyce have four children: James Thomas Bowling, Robert Harlan Bowling Jr., Deborah Lynn Rogers and William Lee Bowling. Joyce and Bob were blessed with 29 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Joyce had many loves. She became a Christian at an early age. She was raised to love the Lord and she brought up her children in church and shared her love of the Lord with them.
Joyce was a long time member of Crescent Park Baptist Church in Odessa, TX. She sang in the choir for many years and also took part in a ladies singing trio. She also taught Sunday school, 5th grade girls.
Joyce loved to cook for her family. She always cooked a special birthday meal for all the children and grandchildren – and of course a dessert was always at her table. She also loved the outdoors, traveling, gardening and mowing, birds and flowers. She loved to read, crochet and quilt.
