Ann B. Curcio was born March 1, 1926 and passed away on October 6, 2018. Nearly 93 years of age. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, in Pelham Bay. Her parents were immigrants from Italy. She raised her family in Sayville, Long Island.
She is survived by four children; Kathleen Knapp, Steven Knapp, Debbie Noviello, and John Curcio. She has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. These above mentioned children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are her greatest achievement. Her dream was to have children and be a mom and she did it so well.
In addition, she was an industrious and innovative business woman. She worked diligently at the Town of Islip Recreation Department to help senior citizens stay fit. Ann retired at 55 and proceeded to be a snow bird to Florida for many years. Along with work at the Recreational Department, she opened a dress shop, a luncheonette and has owned 4 homes.
She is preceded in death by her late husbands, Joe Knapp and John M. Curcio senior. After the death of John, she courageously faced life raising her young family.
With a strong faith in God and perseverance, she has left a legacy to admire. As a prolific story teller, those who have gotten to know her, have been delighted with laughter, insight and challenge from her life stories and lessons. Though she was knocked down a few times she kept getting back up. She will be missed.
We love you mom.
