Arleene D. (Allen) LaSor, 80, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020, at the Hillside Care Home, Keller TX. She was born Jan. 16, 1940, in Glendale CA, daughter of the late Charles W. Allen and Adrienne (McDade) Allen.
She graduated from Glendale High School in 1958, where she was a song leader with her identical twin sister Adrienne. She met and soon married her husband, Sandy, in 1960. Arleene and Sandy were faithful members of the Glendale Presbyterian Church, the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Newport Beach, CA, and the Geneva Presbyterian Church, Laguna Woods, CA, throughout their years together. She was a “Stephen Minister” in the churches she served, and comforted many in their struggles and loss. She also worked as office manager and secretary for numerous companies; E.F. Hutton, El Torito Restaurant, St. Andrews Church, Consolidated Beverages. She loved crafts, and was known for her many original stitchery pictures, one of which won her the Golden Thimble award. She had many lady students to whom she taught her craft. She also loved making decorative Christmas wreaths which she gave to many of her friends and family. She loved giving to people! Mom loved spending time with her family, especially on vacations to Lake Gregory when she was a young mother; house-boating on Lake Powel and Lake Mohave in her middle years; and having her grandchildren visit her every year in the summers and spoiling them. She was a longtime member of the PEO sisterhood, and loved giving her time and talents to many friends and family throughout her years. She also loved her pet dog Bonnie. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving her are her three children, son Stephen LaSor and wife Marie from Greensburg, PA; daughter Diane LaSor from Henderson, NV, and son Jeffrey LaSor and wife Pam from Trophy Club, TX., along with 4 grandchildren – Nathan & Matthew LaSor, Danielle & Justin LaSor;
As well as her brother Dennis Allen, of Ohio. She is preceded in death by her late husband of 57 years, William S. (Sandy) LaSor Jr., her twin sister Adrienne, and a grandson Kevin Verduzco.
There will be no public viewing or service. A private service will be held by family members.
