Ashley Russell

Ashley Anderton Russell, 58, of Keller, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2019. She was born to parents David Anderton, Sr. and Geron Simmons, on March 5, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas.

She graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1979 and went on to study Office Administration at Tarrant County College. Ashley worked as an Office Manager for many years at Hoop Hunter Basketball. She volunteered often at her children’s schools and was a dedicated member of the PTA during that time. She enjoyed reading and had a strong passion for animals, especially dogs, and loved spending time with her friends and family.

Ashley met Danny Russell in 1976. They were married on June 23, 1978 in Hurst, Texas. Together they raised 2 children: J. Tyler Russell and Briana Simpson. Ashley was raised by her adoptive parents and later able to get to know her biological mother, Jean Rush, and much of her biological family.

Ashley is survived by her husband of 41 years, Danny Russell; son, J. Tyler Russell and his wife, Jenny; daughter, Briana Simpson and her husband, Brad; granddaughter, Aurora Russell; brother, David Anderton and his wife, Becky; sisters, Michele Cutchall, Jonna Miller, and Paula Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by Alla Faye Anderton (Granny) and Pauline Smith (Nanna); Geron Simmons (Mother); David Anderton, Sr, (Father); Jean Rush (Biological Mother); Charlie Rush (Step Father); Courtney Anderton (Sister), and Aiden Simpson (Grandson).

There will be a come and go visitation with the family to celebrate her life on September 14, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hillside Community Church in Keller. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation or adopting a pet from your local animal shelter.
