HALTOM CITY -- Audrey Winifred Frances Betts, 93, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016.
Service: 11:00 AM Friday at St. Michael Anglican Church in Richland Hills. A private family graveside will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6-8:00 pm Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Audrey was born on April 26, 1923 and grew up in Torquay, Devon, England. She met the love of her life, Sgt. Harold Betts, during WWII and they were married in June of 1944. She arrived to Texas with her infant son in the spring of 1946. Audrey was the first war bride in Navarro County. She was a loving mother to her 2 children, and a loving Nonnie to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harold; and 4 siblings.
Survivors: Son, John Betts; daughter, Bronwyn Yates; grandchildren, Hillary Hughes, Devon Pendergraff, Victoria Yates, Deborah Veley, Col. Brian Yates (Ret.); 6 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Peggy Knapp and Ivy Ford;
