Barbara Marilyn Alexander Keller, 88, died Friday, July 12, 2019, at Mustang Creek Estates. Barbara was born April 17, 1931, in Evanston, Ill. to Adelaide C. and Robert S. Alexander. She lived in Keller, Texas for the last 10 years (previously of Austin, TX., Rancho Bernardo, CA., Orlando, FL., Weatogue, CT., and Fort Wayne, IN.).
She started her professional career working in the Data Processing department of Lincoln Life Insurance. Later she received a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Purdue University (1971) and obtained the status of Fellow in the Society of Actuaries (FSA). After leaving Lincoln Life (Fort Wayne), Barbara went on to work for Security Connecticut Life (Hartford), then for HBJ Insurance (Orlando), and lastly for a consulting firm (Austin, TX). After retiring, she moved to Rancho Bernardo, California so she could care for her aging parents. Finally she came to Keller, TX to be close to her children.
She was a former Rotarian and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church of the Lakes in Orlando, and attended the Keller United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Keller was preceded in death by her Husband of 48 years, Paul J. Keller Jr. (Sept 11, 2000); two infant twin daughters, Katherine Zita Keller and Pamela Ann Keller (June 21, 1953); by her son Dr. Paul J Keller III (Oct 11, 1998); and a grandson, Maxwell Alexander Keller (July 10, 2017).
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Linda Keller of Scottsdale, AZ.; married son Robert S Keller and wife Kathleen of Colleyville, TX.; married daughter Laura K Kruger and husband Steven of Keller, TX.; and son James B. Keller of Fort Wayne, IN. Also six grandchildren (Mrs. Lisa McLeod, Mr. Samuel Kruger, Miss Jacqueline Keller, Dr. Eric Keller, Mr. Jason Nadeau, and Miss Theresa Nadeau) and three great grandchildren (Cora Scout McLeod, Harper Fox McLeod, and Madison Hope Carrasco). She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Karen Alexander Bedeau and her husband, Dr. Grover W. Bedeau of Portland, OR.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 24, at Keller United Methodist Church. Interment to take place at a date to be determined at Rosehill Cemetery and Mausoleum in Chicago, IL.
