Barbara Lee Smith, 71, passed away January 10, 2022, at home in Alvarado, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Fort Worth First Church of the Nazarene at 2001 E. Main St. Crowley, Texas on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10:30 am. There will be no viewing. All are welcome to come and celebrate Barbara’s life.
Barbara was born February 2, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to George and Eleanor Indykiewicz. She grew up in New Brighton, Minnesota. She graduated from Moundsview Sr. High School in Minnesota, in 1968. After high school, she attended beauty school where she received her degree in cosmetology. She ventured into many careers including real estate and screen printing. Barbara later became an entrepreneur of an automotive business and a wellness business.
She married her high school sweetheart, Paul in 1970, in New Brighton, Minnesota, and they were happily married for 43 years. Barbara enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her kids, grand kids, and great-grand kids. Barbara was especially fond of the beach.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eleanor Indykiewicz and her husband, Paul Smith.
Barbara is survived by her children, Lisa Flynn and husband, Mike of Alvarado, Texas, Amy Mancano and husband, Jim of Burleson, Texas, and David Smith and wife, Julie of Burleson, Texas; siblings, Judy Harris and husband Rodney of New Brighton, Minnesota, Jean Helps and husband, Phil of Montana, Beverly Irving and husband, Brian of Fargo, North Dakota, and Ambrose Indykiewicz of New Brighton, Minnesota; grandchildren, Sean Flynn and wife, Bristol, Ryan Flynn and wife, Lacie, Daniel Flynn, Nicholas Flynn and wife, Gabrielle, Brendon Vaughan, Gabriella Silva and husband, Ruben, Keegan Vaughan and wife, Kindle, Kayla Smith, and Christopher Smith; great-grandchildren, Carter Flynn, Cooper Flynn, and Crosbie Flynn; mother-in-law, Betty Jean Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Flowers can be sent to Fort Worth First Church of the Nazarene at 2001 E. Main St. Crowley, Texas 76036, on Friday.
