Barbara Sue Whitfield

March 14, 1949 — January 26, 2024

Barbara Sue Whitfield a resident of Euless, Texas fell asleep on January 26, 2024, and is awaiting the return of her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Barbara Sue Stewart was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 14, 1949. Sue had an older brother David and a foster sister named Marti Fagin.
At a young age, Sue became interested in horses and started learning the basics of “show jumping” at a local arena. While caring for the horses, one of Sue’s girlfriends invited Sue to attend a home Bible fellowship where they taught keys on how the Bible interprets itself. Sue declined these invitations for nearly one year.
Sue eventually attended that home fellowship and God’s Word thrilled Sue’s soul. Later she completed the Power for Abundant Living class, a foundational class on the Bible where her understanding of, and love for God’s Word flourished.
In 1978, Sue qualified and enrolled in The Way Corps leadership training program. Sue completed her four-year training in 1982, graduating into the Tenth Way Corps and receiving an associate degree in theology at that time.
One of Sue’s first ministry assignments brought her to Kansas where she served as the secretary for the State Coordinator. During her time in Kansas, she met Don Whitfield who later became her husband. Don and Sue were married in October 1986. Don and Sue served together for 30 years as Home Fellowship Coordinators for The Way International.
Don and Sue have one child, Noah Whitfield, born in 1991.
Sue loved to read and to do cross-stitch. She loved giving others the many cross-stitch patterns with Bible verses in them. Sue was also adventurous. In 1989, when Sue turned 40, she joined her husband who loved skydiving in a tandem skydive jump. While Sue enjoyed her skydive, she had no desire to make a second jump.
She is survived by her husband Don, and her son and daughter-in-law Noah and Alison and her grandchildren Gabriel, Julian, Isabella, and August, all of Euless, TX and her foster sister Marti Witters, of Bishop, CA.
