Barbara Joann Wood

Barbara Joann (Jo) (Devor) Wood passed away peacefully on July 27, 2020 in Ft. Worth, Texas at the age of 74. She was born on May 8, 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late William Austin Devor and Ada Ruth (Wallace)Devor. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and went on to attend Bristol School for Girls in Bristol, Virginia. She was married to the love of her life, Mansel (Manny) Wood for 51 years. They had two children, Manny Jr. and Drady Stelling. Because of Manny’s career in the Marine Corps, they lived Thailand, Spain, Okinawa, Japan, Kansas and Virginia. During that time, they were able to visit Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Scotland, England, Italy, Portugal, France and Germany before returning to Manny's birthplace, the Republic of Texas.
Jo loved her animals and working in the yard. She was also an avid crafter. Her greatest love for the last 18 years has been her grandchildren, Karlene Devor (18), Peter Wood (16), Sander Curtis (12), and Sawyer Walter (11).

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Austin Devor and Ada Ruth (Wallace) Devor and brother William Austin Devor Jr. . Jo is survived by her darling husband Mansel (Manny) Monroe Wood; son, Mansel (Manny) Monroe Wood Jr.; daughter Drady Joann (Wood) Stelling and husband, Peter of Frisco; granddaughter Karlene Stelling of Frisco, grandsons Peter, Sander and Sawyer of Frisco.

There will be a life celebration at a later date that will be communicated by the family.
