Barnett Daniel Howeth, Sr (83) or "Blacky" as he was best known, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022. He was born on March 23,1939 in Overton, TX to William Hubert Howeth and Meathel (Mills) Howeth. Serving in the Navy, Blacky became a machinist. Retired from Murdock Machine & Engineering in Irving, TX, Blacky was a man that could build or fix anything. He was co-owner of the family business, Vegas Image Parties. "Coach Blacky" was a Tri-Cities Baseball coach for both of his sons and "The Hearts" women's softball team. Blacky and Linda loved traveling and RVing. He loved to spend time "poking the fire" at Hickory Creek Park. His wit was sharp, dry and playful to the end. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Anita Burnett, and brother, William ”Bill” Howeth.
Blacky is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Howeth, (although they had no children together) his daughter, Jonette, husband, Scott Stewart, his son, Barnett Howeth, Jr and wife, Jerri, his son, Roger Howeth and wife, Teresa, and his bonus children, Lisa Alexander and Gene Griffith, Jr, wife, Carlita. "Papaw" to 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sun, August 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home-Keller
