He is also survived by his four nieces, Heather O’Donovan-Marz, Erin Boyd, Kendra O’Donovan-Dye, Kelly O’Donovan-Carlson.
Barry was about two years old when the family moved from Maine to California. He was always a storyteller and very curious. When he was four on wash day he’d go around and collect the neighborhood gossip and bring it back to his mom. His siblings called him the walking encyclopedia because he always knew something about any subject that came up. As a young adult attending community college he was a class or two away from five different majors. Ultimately Barry joined the Army and was a helicopter mechanic in Korea. This was the beginning of his love of aviation. He spent the rest of his life working on planes.
Barry was a storyteller, a jokester, a mentor, a debater, a mechanic, a lover of music, a great friend, brother, and uncle. He will be tremendously missed by all those that loved him.
