Beatriz Elena Rios Ross, 60, passed away on October 9, 2019. Beatriz and her twin sister Flor Angela, were born to parents Javier Rios and Ligia Blandón in Jericho, Columbia. She was christened in Cathedral Nuestra Señora Jericho. Beatriz moved to the United States and studied at the American School of Textile Design in Atlanta, Georgia. She met and married her husband, Charles Steven Ross, of Macon, Georgia in 1984. They lived in Wake Forest, North Carolina before moving to Austin, Texas in 1995 and relocated to Azle, Texas in 2010. During Beatriz’s 29-year career with American Airlines, she worked at RDU, AUS, and DFW. While living in Wake Forest, Bea was a very active assistant den mother for the Cub Scout pack where her sons were members. She was an avid lover of animals, and she cherished her pets.

Beatriz is survived by Steve and their two sons, Zachary Lee of San Antonio and John Patrick of Azle; her father, Javier Rios, twin sister Flor Angela Corniquel (Silvio Grandi) of Paris, nieces, Veronique Corniquel and Lou Grandi; and numerous family members in Columbia. She is also survived by Steve’s daughter, Allison Thomas (Joe); granddaughter Madison of Virginia Beach; mother-in-law, Louise Ross of Macon, Georgia; and sister-in-law Cheryl (Ross) Lee of Long Beach, California.

Funeral services for Beatriz Elena Rios Ross will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter in recognition of Beatriz’s love of animals.
