Benita Castor Martinez, age 90 of Fort Worth, Texas was promoted to Heaven on Friday, March 22, 2019. She was born on April 3, 1928 in Johnson City, Texas to the late Roberto Rodriguez Castor and Cruz Fernandez Castor.
Benita was raised in Killeen, Texas. After getting married, she and her husband, Frank raised their children in the Panhandle area before moving to Fort Worth in 1969. Benita loved to read her Bible and to minister to others by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. She was a member of Lamb of God Church. Mostly she loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Santos Martinez in 2007 after being married 57 years.
Benita is survived by her loving children: sons, Frank Martinez and wife, Marsha of Mansfield, Texas and Johnny Martinez of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters, Belinda Anderson and husband Marty of Springtown, Texas, Angie Flores and husband, Sam of Fort Worth, Texas and Dora Steele and husband Walter of North Richland Hills, Texas; grandchildren: Andrew Martinez, Alex Martinez, Eli Reyna, Christle Peaden, Sammy Flores, III, Matthew Flores, Erica Wheat, Whitney Steele, Kristen Steele, Taylor Steele, Amy Martinez, and Amanda Martinez; her precious 21 great- grandchildren: Christian, Elijah, Micah, Anabella, Josiah, Lilyana, Gabriel, Zephraim, Sebastian, Crosby, Grace, Magnolia, Dezmond, Alessia, Alexis, Esmeralda, Alexandra, Aribella, Adelynne, Amirah, and Abigail.
The family will receive friends and visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Lamb of God Church located at 3615 Maurice Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76118 with graveside and interment at 3:30 P.M. at Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
