Benny Leslie Helton, 75, of Burleson passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
Memorial Service with visitation to follow will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Cross Timber Baptist Church, located at 2560 FM 731 in Burleson.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Cross Timber Baptist Church Mission Trips Budget.
Benny was born on March 28, 1944 in Pensacola, FL to Leo and Pauline Kent Helton. He grew up around the U.S. as an Air Force child, ending at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth where he graduated from Castleberry High School in 1963. He then went on to study basic drafting and engineering graphics at Tarrant County Junior College.
Benny began his career in 1966 in the Air Craft Industry working for General Dynamics, Bell Helicopter, Tech Tool and Lockheed Martin, he retired in 2011.
Benny married Pam Gilliland in 1985 in Fort Worth and they were happily married for 33 years. He was a faithful member of Cross Timber Baptist Church in Burleson. His hobbies grew from his love of building. He enjoyed building and flying his remote control airplanes. He also had built and fished out of two wooden boats and he built two tear drop trailers which he enjoyed hunting and camping out of.
Benny was preceded in death by his father, Leo L. Helton; mother, Pauline Helton; brother, Leo and sisters, Alice and Joyce.
Survivors: Wife of 33 years, Pam; sons, Scott and David Helton; daughter, Bonnie Helton and other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
