Bernard Chancellor

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Bernard "Bernie" Chancellor, 94, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.

Service: 1 p.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends at noon Friday, prior to the service.

Bernie was born in Greensgap, N.M., and in 1942 joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in San Antonio. That same year he married the love of his life, Missy, and were married for 70 years. After the war they moved back to Hot Springs, N.M., where he managed the two downtown theaters and was an engineer at Elephant Butte Power Plant. He was also president of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and a 3rd degree Mason. He rode a horse in the Sheriff's Posse for many years after Ralph Edwards changed the name to Truth or Consequences. Bernie was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Hurst and also the Fort Worth Model A Club.

Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Uwna Pate Chancellor of North Richland Hills; daughter, Deenie Chancellor Duncan and husband, Jerry, of Burleson; granddaughter, Michelle Duncan Levick and husband, Michael, of Hurst; grandson, Chad and wife, Jennifer, of Burleson; and his sister, Patsy J. Douglas of Socorro, N.M.
