Bernice Patricia Yelich

Bernice Patricia Yelich, 82, former spouse of the late Robert R. Martinez, M.D. of Houston, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 06, 2020 at Keller Oaks Healthcare Center.
Born February 11, 1938, in Ironwood, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Louis, Sr. and Ann Yelich. Ms. Yelich attended Ironwood High School and Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the Registrar for both the University of California San Francisco and The University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston, Texas. As a consummate volunteer, she was the President of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Harris County Medical Society. In her retirement, she took the role of Substitute Teacher.
She is survived by sons, Greg Martin of Houston, Texas and Jeff Martin of Keller, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Veronica Uzelac of Auburn, CA; brother, Louis Yelich, Jr. of Richmond, TX; and by 12 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her former spouse Robert, she was predeceased by her brothers Emil and John and her sisters Mary and Ann.
Her funeral arrangements are being handled privately by her sons in keeping with her wishes.
