Bertha Schoofield, 85, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018.

Service Information: Service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX at 6:00 PM on Tuesday September 18th. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.

Memorial: In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research at https://www.michaeljfox.org

Bertha was born on October 17, 1932 in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico to Pedro Schoofield-Chavarrieta and Bertha Lopez-Trujillo. She was married in Mexico City to Jorge Salas-Tora and became the loving mother to her three children where she dedicated her life to their upbringing. In her spare time she volunteered to educate underprivileged children in Mexico City. In 1993 she immigrated to the United States to be close to her children and grandchildren and continued her passion for service by volunteering at Baylor Medical Center for many years. Bertha had a passion for life, traveling, and her family.
Bertha was preceded in death by her late parents and brother, Miguel Schoofield.

Survivors: Children: Jorge and wife Kathy Salas, Pablo and wife Tamara Salas, and Paulina Salas-Schoofield; Siblings: Eva Schoofield and Sara Schoofield; Grandchildren: Emily Sanders, Paula Salas, Katya Salas, Daniel Salas, Stephanie Salas and Patrick Salas; and numerous loving family and friends
