It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Jean Bartlett, who went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Betty was born on October 1, 1941, in Ozark, Arkansas, to Wes Bowen and Zeefer Viola Norene Parker. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished friend to all who knew her.
Betty’s love for family and community was evident in every aspect of her life. In October of 1959, she married her late husband, James (Jim) Paul Bartlett, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of love and devotion. Together, they raised a family rooted in faith, kindness, and the values of hard work and compassion.
Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. Betty was deeply involved in various community organizations, volunteering her time to Meals on Wheels, hospice care, nursing homes, and the auxiliary hospital. She was a constant source of support and love for those in need, always giving selflessly of her time and energy.
Betty had many passions. She was an avid quilter, gardener, baker, and canner, finding joy in creating and taking care of the things - and people she loved. But above all, her greatest joy was her family—her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved with her whole heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents, her four brothers: James, John, Bob, and Fred, her sister Bea, and her grandson Brandon Bartlett. Betty’s legacy lives on in her children: Ronnie and his wife Terri Bartlett (Azle, TX), Rick and his wife Sharon Bartlett (Anna, TX), Paul Bartlett (Marietta, OK), Lisa and her husband Homer Cruse (Fort Worth, TX), and Danny and his wife Theresa Bartlett (Pauls Valley, OK). Her siblings: Sue Sears (Arkansas) and Steve Bowen (Oklahoma). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her memory and love in their hearts.
